The meeting concluded with a workshop on improving the measurement of skills shortages and gaps. It brought together experts from the Committee of the Regions, the World Employment Confederation, the European Commission, the Regional Office in Lodzkie of Brussels and KU Leuven. The existing approaches and evidence on skills shortages, as well as recommendations to better identify potential skills gaps were discussed.
Moreover, the SkillsPULSE Project partners participated in two events in Brussels::
- a Joint Research Seminar bringing together the remaining three Horizon projects on skills mismatches (TRAILS, SKILLAB and SkiLMeet),
- a networking event "What are new skills and are they in short supply?", where the newly published book "Re-Thinking Europe’s Skill Needs: Reflections Following the European Year of Skills" edited by Liga Baltina – coordinator of the SkillsPulse project and Terence Hogarth was presented.
